Sonomaceuticals partnered with PIPA to unlock the full health potential of WellVine, an upcycled ingredient derived from Chardonnay marc. The goal was to rapidly identify health-promoting molecules and scientifically grounded ingredient pairings that could expand product concepts and speed commercialization.

A New Level of Biological Insight
Using PIPA’s LEAP platform, the team integrated biomedical literature, proprietary datasets, and AI prediction to surface known and novel health benefits linked to WellVine. The analysis also evaluated synergistic ingredient combinations to maximize efficacy across multiple consumer health areas.
The collaboration converted complex molecular data into product-ready insights, enabling faster by-product valorization and supporting innovation across multiple functional nutrition categories.
Hundreds of candidate ingredients identified with scientific evidence supporting pairing with WellVine
5× faster discovery cycles, reducing timelines from the industry norm of 4 to 6 years to months
6× faster R&D screening, enabling data-driven, cost-efficient lab testing and product design
